FIVE IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER

1. There is a solution to every problem.

No matter how complicated your problem may seem, there is always a solution. My mom always says this to me whenever she can see that I'm starting to spiral thinking about my problems.

2. Just because you have money, it doesn't mean you should spend it.

It's tempting to spend the money that just appeared in your bank account thanks to direct deposit but stop and think: "Is this something I really need or is this something that I just want?" I've found that I've saved a decent amount of money by asking myself this simple question. Instead of spending it on items I don't necessarily need, I'll put the money into my savings account.

3. Worrying will never change the outcome.

Alright, think about this one. How has worrying over something (usually something you have absolutely no control over) worked out for anybody? Maybe it'll help you mentally prepare for everything that could potentially go wrong but now you're just stressed out and sweaty and whatever is meant to happen will happen. It's okay to let go.

4. Not everyone will like you, and that's okay.

You're not going to be everyone's cup of tea. Think back to the times when you've met people who weren't favorite people. It's completely normal. You can't win 'em all.

5. Nothing is permanent.

The fact that nothing is permanent is both a good and bad thing. If you're going through a rough patch in your life, just remember that it's not forever and you will move past it. On the other hand, if things are going really well for you, don't get cocky or too comfortable. Remember, that can always change. Perhaps you should start thinking of contingency plans just in case it all comes crashing down.
